Had I known that morning would be our last,
I would have made coffee for you,
like you always did for me.
I would have watched the steam rise,
watched it disappear,
the way our love did.

Had I known that morning would be our last,
I would have stayed in bed a little longer,
just a few more seconds,
pressed my feet against yours,
felt your breath on my skin,
and haveΒ Β that memory to play on repeat

Had I known,
I would have told you
about all the lives I have lived for you.
And I would have poured you coffee,
Just like I poured all of me into you,
And I would have watched the steam fade into nothing, just like I did.
