i will remember you fondly when you'd pretend
not to notice the cateract condition of my intuition
inching it’s way up the stares guarding what could
only be the classroom of some long abandoned catholic school
where the squaters don’t find heat.

i will remember you fondly in the way you pulled
your hair back past the parted stem cell experiment
reeking of blueberries and cigarettes that makes the wheels squeak
inside your head.

i will remember you fondly because of your inability
to catch fish between the cracks i made just for you, but
i will remember you fondly for always bringing home water.
