A small example of "progress"
Once a forest, tall and wide,
Now its heart is cut inside.
Oaks replaced with spindly thorn—
See how "progress" is adorned.
Looks the same—at least, they say,
Yet who walks will scrape away.
Still they preach with pride and glee:
"Things are better—can't you see?"
