I return worn out from labour spent
To rest in our household bed
A subtle fragrance dances on the air
You have just washed your hair
I lay my head to settle down beside you
Your arms stretch out to meet my tired body
We sleep a deep soundless lover’s sleep
We rise in our nest to birds chirping
I look across, see you smiling, content at what we call our own
Our home shared
Our castle built upon each other’s trust
Acquired memories adorn the halls
Your beautiful clothes hang behind doors
Our cat meanders across the bed, meowing loudly to be fed
We laugh at how happy we are
Would we dare have any more?
A walk hand in hand watching the wind blow by
Spending evenings by a fire side
Holding you close if ever you cry
This wonderful visage of life maybe
For I must find you out there first of all.
