The smile that you see on my face
Every day of these lengthy years
It’s fake and feels out of place
But I pretend to smile for my peers

I don’t want to show how I feel
Because some people will call me a shame
I need this fake smile like it’s my last meal
Because it’s the only thing that hides my pain

There is really only one person you there
Who can bring the real smile out of me
But that one person is no longer here
But I’ll soon see her again, and truly smile
You’ll see
