what does he most fear
what's he scared to lose
chained to dreams in sleep
a life he did not choose

how did all this start
whisper in my mind
am i only a dream
to your roots confined?

for silently i burn
afraid of ambiguity
scared in every moment
by farce of reality

and if its all a dream
as you'd have me believe
tell me o men of wise
what a tree does dream

just for it is indeed
alive as you and me
conscious of space and time
amidst eternal stream

does it wish be freed
of earthy shackles deep
of towering limbs in light
and slender fingers green

to break the nature's vow
and silently set free
its spirit bearing fruit
from love's primordial seeds

free from soils of world
when this tree does sleep
as your world wakes up
you still dream through me
tranquil
