Oct 2013
beneath the layer of wrongs and rights
a play which we pretend
below the skin of truth and lies
upon life condescend

what is all which we do hide
deep in stony walls
scared to jump as if it hurts
like a million falls

for on ground which sits a bird
too afraid to fly
trembling legs and doubting wings
sees its lonesome cry

though i may yet stumble or
though i may yet fall
still i know you'll be with me
see me through it all

free of shiny masquerades
loving all blemishes
walk i shall on sands of time
soggy with tears of bliss

as light peeks through my window pane
fulfill this morning's will
with trust entrenched in God's name
today i choose to live
while i breathe the world in me
life plays in lyre and rhyme
and witness men with passion leave
footprints on sands of time
tranquil
