If I had my way
the rain would fall each month
a little here and there
not in one big bunch.
You wouldn't hear of ******
on the evening news
of violence, *** and ****
no more delving in the blues.
If I had my way
there would be only cheers
to satisfy the heart and soul
void of sorrow, hate and fears.
Where a child was safe in school
and the nation was united once again
where love was once again the Golden Rule
and there was no division among friends.
If I had my way
then in God, we'd always trust
where treasures are stored above
not down here - where they would rust.
