i've found myself in a strange place.
it's got some long and straight hallways,
a few of the hallways curve around,
but it all leads to dead ends and i have to retrace my steps, only to find myself back in the hallway i first appeared in.

there were a lot of doors that i came across.
i wanted to try opening them
i never stepped too far inside the rooms

the first one contained nothing but cobwebs and a stick figure family drawn on the wall, so i tried the next door i stumbled upon.

in that, there was a skeletonโ€”one of those flimsy plastic ones you buy at your local costume storeโ€”sitting with its back against the wall. it was dressed in a tutu and a princess shirt, topped off with a goofy faux-fur hat.
it scared me for some reason

the last room i checked intimidated me. when i saw the door, my instinct told me to run.
but run where?
i turned the ****, pushed the door open.
from the other side, the door was pushed closed; the click of the lock echoing in the dusty hallway.

after a while, i decided to stop opening doors
it was safer that way
and i continued walking around those same stupid halls that lead to the same dead ends
