As I grow older, I find it hard,
To face the world without a guard.
Every headline raises a wall,
Teaching me to hesitate and stall.

Life has shown me trust can break,
Lessons learned from every mistake.
I see the chances drift away,
Fearing the risks keeps joy at bay.

They say that ignorance is sweet,
But youth can take those leaps, so fleet.
Yet here I stand, cautious and wise,
Missing the thrill beneath the skies.
