In the mirror, an image
Of the girl I use to be;
her eyes wide and bright
skin radiant
her smile could light
even the coldest hearts.
She is now an image
frozen in time.
Waiting to burst through
the hollow shell she now
sits in, waiting.
Waiting for something to
release her; until then
she is nothing but a
reflection of what use to
be.
I wrote this poem for a scholarship to a creative writing workshop. :)
