Moonflower

I was never told I’d live to see the sunset And the moonrise so close together. A twilight smile flickers over you Brighter than sunlight across water. I find it so peculiar we’d choose The same name for a daughter. I’ll never understand how it happened; Coming from my childhood slaughterhouse Into your lovely little home. With the way you listened to me there, How could I ever shy from all you’ve shown? Remember that tiny house, floating on the bay? It would be enough for me! Actually, I checked the market around here. It would be more than I can afford. What ever happened to our world? What happened to our words? What happened to the glint in her white pearls? These weekends hold adventures Unlike any I’ve ever known. Well-wishing the Moonflower my world has finally grown 🌺
