Without You

Without you

I no longer fight.

Without you

I no longer stand straight.

Without you

I no longer do what's right.

I find I fade while you're away,

Becoming less of myself,

More like I was.

Without you

I wander about.

Without you

I drift free.

Without you

I have doubts.

I sit in my unpreferred solitude

Reliving cherished memories

Through a veil of pain.

Without you

there is no light.

Without you

there is no silver sound.

Without you

there is no day

or night.

The orchids will not bloom,

The owls do not hoot

And the stars skimp

On their twinkling light.
