These days, no more snapshots I take,
No tally of hours, no memories to make.

Time slips through my grasp, a silent stream,
And wing-clipped birds no longer dream.

Acknowledgment fades, a ghostly refrain, To the world, to you, to my own domain.

Resistance wanes, like grains of sand,
I unclench my fist, release the relentless hand.

That’s how I fade away,
Day by day….
