Through the Storm

by DFURY

This is the man I want to be. A man who walks through the storm, with his head held high, his shoulders back and his chest out. He is strong, courageous, full of fight and purpose, so certain is he of reaching the distant sunlight  he sees breaking through the violent dark clouds. He feels the kinetic force of the wild wind, the icy chill of the bullet rain slashing his skin and their weight push him back. It is a blow that would suck the life from many mens heart but It does not break his will, he finds a meaning in the struggle that emboldens it. He keeps his back straight, his pace steady and puts one foot in front of the other because he knows that each step takes him closer to the warmth of a brighter day. This is the man I want to be.
