TRAVELLER
TRAVELLER
the town
lay
dreaming
all its streets
slept
soundly
and the sea
snored
loudly
the dawn
smiled
shyly
it was as if
humans hadn't been
invented
it was as if the town
had come into being
created itself
for its own amusement
and for the rain that rained
happily upon it
cobbles and rooftops
shining with
their own delight
only now
had a human
arrived form another dimension
of flesh and blood
and thought.
invading the town and
its silence with
the click-clacking of high heels
it was a woman with
her own past
curled up inside her
and a private life
known only to her
thinking to herself
"Maybe I am. . ."
the last person alive
in this world?"
and maybe
she was
maybe she was
