The howling wind a wolf's lament
hidden moon behind gray clouds
a solitary light cuts through thin fog
passing cherubs in quiet repose
guardian angels with blank faces

Flower wreaths of scented death
fading petals of love's remembrance
fallen hopes and dreams depart
mortal remains turn to dust
the silent earth soon embraces

Beguiling calm hides the madness
of a tortured soul at mid nights hour
pick and shovel his only companions
a fresh mound their final destination
his lover's bed of eternal rest

Dirt filled nails claw into the past
pain and tears rip open the soul
a gaping chasm welcomes me
If love be ****** then so be I
life without you is not worth living
