In a city where dreams bloom wide,
My heart so open, my spirit's guide,
Met a boy, his eyes a midnight fire,
Our story started, filled with desire.

Charming and playful, he drew me near,
In shadows, we whispered, free from fear,
He had someone else, but I couldn't deny,
We played a game, under moonlight sky.

Oh, I believed in love's sweet refrain,
With this boy, sparks flew, no room for pain,
Hoping he'd break free, our love to sustain,
But it was just a story, concealing the chain.

Stolen moments, secrets we'd share,
Whispers of love hung in the air,
Invitations to places, where hearts unite,
But his heart was torn, in the cover of night.

Slowly my heart ached, hope slipping away,
Deception in words, in the light of day,
I thought he'd choose love, leave her behind,
But he had his plan, and it wasn't mine.

On a rooftop we stood, truth in my plea,
"Will you choose me, and set your heart free?"
He hesitated, his eyes filled with doubt,
Our love, a secret, tangled and devout.

With tears in my eyes, I had to let go,
From a love that had led to depths unknown,
A lesson learned, in love's complex dance,
Sometimes the heart's path leads to circumstance.

Stronger and wiser, I'll find my way,
A love that's genuine, no more games to play,
With a guarded heart, and wisdom I've earned,
I'll find love's truth, where it's truly returned.
