Poem after Confession

Lord, in order to save us, sinners through and through,

You, who had no sin, were killed out of a love so true

Giving up Your life and taking on all our sin,

Brought up again, You make new life begin.

I laid my troubles, sins and pains at Your feet

Vulnerable and helpless You bade me to take, do, drink, and eat.

And I am empty, hungry; I pine for Your touch;

Help me surrender; I need you so much.

Afraid of what I’ll find if I let it all go,

You give me the peace. Ask, and I’ll follow.

Feed me, give me drink. May I be transformed tonight.

And now that I’ve come, and now that it’s done, I start to see the light.

I start to see Your Light.
