I walk though my home so empty and strange
not even love is protected from change

In the streets of my past once so vibrant and youthful
The nature of time is so dreadfully truthful

People will leave, seasons will turn
The wise will move on while the young stay and burn

Fight as you may, it’s out of control
Whatever you’re dealt, you’d best take it and roll
Just moved out of my hometown
