running down a dream
i had been for my short life
and when i found her
i realized that song
had more to do
with
love
than picking up whatever is there

we saw each other in our twenties
met each other after
crossed paths
met eyes
lips
beds

we took turns saying to each other
"I'm so glad i found you"

and that is when
I realized that dream
had more to do with
her
than anything
waiting down the road
