The Bartender
May I lay my life to fate,
For golden curls on a girl,
Named Kate.
Accidents happen,
Injuries arise,
May I staunch your wound,
As I stare into your eyes?
How did this happen,
Punishment gone awry.
Mayhaps my luck,
May have risen high.
How do I approach this,
To try and gain,
Your heart and your smile,
While I stave off my pain.
Perhaps she'll enfold me,
And I'll find my way,
Into her heart,
Where I may just stay.
