They laughed, They smiled, They made jokes; all to play along with the part it seemed life had given them. They were afraid of change, Afraid that one day they would awake and see a world they didn't belong in. You can fear change but still welcome it, but there will always have that fear lying beneath the skin. They fear the change because they are still trying to find themselves in the now, The countless nights spent trying to figure out who they need to be for the next day; What mask to show the others. The day will come where they no longer want to welcome the new; the day they become tired They will tire of changing their mask, but they will never leave the house without it; but the day will come where you will not see them; Day after D a y a f t e r d a y, u n t i l y o u f o r g e t t h e y e v e r e x i s t e d Until you see them once again Then you wake up
