Rode the bus
The other night
Under VIOLENT sky
When the tires BLEW
From OVERUSE
SKIDDED and FLIPPED
Started to SLIDE
Glass SHATTERING
Bus on its side
Gravity changed and
I felt myself fly
Everyone thinking
We're ALL GOING to die

But I didn't tense up;
Decided to try to enjoy the ride.

Woke up on the side-
walk, head felt like
cinderblock, and the
air was thick with
thank-Heaven talk

Nobody DIED,
Or ever felt so ALIVE,
And a few days later,
REALIZED
I was the driver
