i choose to believe that if
i twist my hair right,
purse my lips slightly,
cross my legs just so,
that i’ll look like you want me to,
that i’ll become the girl
you think of when your thoughts
are inescapable,
when they have no other option
than to appear into the air
right in front of your eyes
