A Zen monk
Popular in his town
Sits with his disciples
Gives talks and was renown

A student of another master
Came to visit the teacher
Was not impressed with the manner
Convinced he knew no further

Confronted the teacher
And told him about the Greatness of his master
Recounting his powers
He gave many examples

My master can stand
On one side of the banks
Look at some one standing
Across the river in the other bank
Pull out a leaf from a tree
And with just his fingers
Draw the person on the leaf
Would be so accurate
You can't find any mistake

What such powers
Do you possess
Why do so many
People converge in your presence

The teacher answered
I have no such skill
I know only two things in life
When I'm hungry i eat
When I'm thirsty i drink
