Apr 2022
I watched as the world around me
shivered beneath the snow
until finally the blessed sun brought its favor

The earth
welcomed its face
shining upon it and all the life it held
was bearing fruit of its long awaited spring

The riverbanks
found their voice again
as the water applauded against its currents

The birds
sang from their thawed lungs
a song that reminded me of
how far I had come
to finally see the world around me
become alive again

I whistled along with nature’s tune
delighting in how
this season will pass too
