the moon, she blossoms in the dark of night,
where tranquil sands, her glowing bands, she lays
the waves caress her bodice, hold her tight,
as gulls and wishes rest upon the bay.

but who will hold the sea, who cradles moon?
he longs each day to gaze deep in her eyes
her light to glow eternal, fading soon,
exhausted, on the dunes of sand he lies

his love, vanquished by the dawn, heart torn
the moon will drift away, their love will test,
each day his heart will die, her loss is mourned,
till dusk, she comes around, her silver crest,

his tears fill galaxies, till dusk he grieves
his waves hold strong, her gentle light he weaves
