Kings
vast amounts of lands
conquered and ruled
all under your hand
you smile greedily
upon your throne
more and more your kingdom grows
your people suffer and wail
the poor and the rich
they all grow sick
you've come to love no one
and nothing
except for your precious gold and rings
you smile once more upon your throne
looking at the destruction of war
when will you stop? you've gone too far
the greed controls your very frail heart
your body protests the daily life of a king
you believe you can battle the sickness death brings
your kingdom crumbles
the spark of rebellion cannot be contained
you cry out in a fit of rage
death comes awfully quick
no ones around while your heart sputters its last beat
the things you treasured most were the things you didn't even need
your heart was controlled by greed
you craved it more and more
but all you wanted was to be loved and adored
