Feb 2022
swept me up
as a wave, over my head. I was
a slave. I crashed up against
the rocks. No more comfy
pillow talks.

The pain
swallowed me whole
as a beached whale
rolled onshore
stored in the fat
of a carnivore.

The pain
sliced through me
as a shark, moving stealthily
in the dark. Till I was
floating body parts.

The pain
submerged me
as a submarine
to the bottom-
the abyssal plain
where there’s no sunlight
only sediment as my terrain.
