the drapes that covered them
as they watched you enter the front door
had no holes
when he was floating
beyond the banister.

the ghost you never saw
but always sensed, but they now
thankful that
the weightlessness carries them so dearly.

freefall calming cool gravity
like
resting the eyes on sleepless nights
- hoping for the kiss of sweet slumber.
