I lie awake and picture
How I'd like my dreams to play out
When I'm swept up in the cover of sleep.
I forget my loneliness in this dimension.
I forget that I'm average
And that I have nothing to write
Under the sub heading for special skills on my resume.
In my dreams I am not perfect
But no one else knows that.
I'm almost convinced I'm larger than life
Until I wake up.
