Solstice Night
Came cold that night. ***** was
trotting, tail upright like a cat
Blackbirds had been fattened with cheese
And flicked themselves back
Into foliage. Jupiter glared and dipped
Down to horizon
And the cold closed over like
The lid of a trap.
