She reached out her hand
Something to give to me
I was expecting her wedding band
Pain given freely
Her expression bland
Instead it was a Bumblebee
Surprised I was
Her gesture and her gift of tomorrow
Her tears because
Of laughter and not sorrow
I returned to her my eyes freely
Tears of another tomorrow
The sting of love gone steely
