As darkness falls upon my heart
There is hope for something new
And in the evenings sweet embrace
I'll think of just we two.

When the night has gained control
I'll kneel to say a prayer
And as I pray like nights before
Your presence will be there.

Midnight strikes and all is silent
But thoughts of you still remain
So much love I had for you
And you broke my heart in vain.

Now as I dream, your presence fades
In hopes to wake to a brand new start
Forget the way you betrayed my trust
leaving me with the broken heart.

At early dawn my dreams shall end
I'll wake without thoughts of you
No more tears, or saddened eyes
from the hell you put me through.

The morning sun shines on my face
And my feet slowly touch the floor
I look towards the sunlight and smile
Realizing, I now love you no more.
