Our cat
Slid gently upon the slimy, slippery table.
He was only quietly, dreamily playing
But this airy-furred creature was assaulted by his loose
Attachment to the vast plane of too-smooth glass.
His soft pads which once touched lightly upon
The surface, sticky, smooth, icy, suddenly! whip in an instant,
Motion whirring, scratching claws, and deep panic,
Rushing through the tender limbs and into
The very sacred soul, the light, of
Our cat.
A crunch, PAIN! Limbs, which should have never been, bent.
Tail, crumples, our cat’s feathered fur now trampled,
Covered in the wet, gooey, slimy fluid
On the glass.
Our cat shakes, humbly, adrenaline fading, and
Pushes the glowing energy light back to his supple
Body and rises, anger cries fear cries happiness cries
Relief cries, out! of
Our cat.
The Great Slip and Fall, it happened, why? We ask?
Icy, smooth, was the glass, broken was the gelatinous
Raw Egg.
