Dark Daffodils
An array of daffodils
Like yellow trumpets
Heralding new beginnings
Or ends
Heads bobbing, and swaying
Like armies
Marching
Like a sea
Of yellow ectoplasm
Gungy slime
Beautifully unattractive
Like a black sublime
Self loving
Self loathing
Dark pools
Mirrors Narcissus
Ripples of dark water
An undercurrent
Of grimacing sprites
One daffodil peers in
And is soon drowned
Lost in it's own self beauty
It's poisonous blood
Lies exposed
As dead fish float
Eyes staring upwards
Into an empty void
Through the flotsam
Of dead yellow
