I hope this
cigarette finally
gets rid of the
taste you left
in my mouth

like coffee-breath,
that lingers until
it’s scoured away

I’ve tried
mouthwash,
dish soap,
bleach

and there’s
still your
after-taste

but does
it really matter
when I always
break down and
have another
cup later,
anyways?
