Come Morning
My hearts skips beats
aching for the days that were
carefree and frivolous
when my smile was genuine and my eyes
sparkled with life
I know there is no going back
that the journey of life does not come with
a rewind button, or even a pause
to take in the evening air
and breathe the sunset into my lungs
so that I may expel beautiful colours
come morning
