I care
Because, I just do
Maybe because of,
the feelings
that I have
or the ones
that come
From you.

I care
Probably,
too much
but I can’t,
help it
Because I do.

I care
Because, it’s you
I know that,
you may not
but, that’s okay
Because, I just do.

I care
Because,
just because
It’s you
and only
From, the things
that you do
Because, I just do.

I care
Maybe, too much
but I, can’t help it
Because, I just do

If I am cold
or tough
on you
It’s not that
I don’t care
Because
I still do
Care for you.

It is because
I must,
Remove myself
From caring
too much
about you
Because, I just do
Because, I know
that I care
Too much.

I will need
some space
and time.
Time to heal.
From the care
I have/had from you
Because I just do
Because I care.

But know
that when
I am ready
I will come back
as a friend
Because it’s you
I care
but know that
you don’t
in the way
That I do

-Because it’s you
-Because I just do.

Part 1 of I care -meaning behind this poem thought process: The after part once you have had a long term relationship of any sort the process of moving on is hard/tough. One person or on occasions both are usually in a different 'moving on' stage.
One person has moved on more quickly than the other.
If both try/want to maintain the friendship the trick is to find a new balance which can be extremely tough, or to help make things easier for the healing stages to begin the process to 'move on' and stop all communication with that person.

Part 2 of I care-meaning behind this poem thought process: : When you first meet someone or like someone and you find out that they don't feel the same way back. The process that it takes for you to catch up where the other person is at when they informed you of their decision or fizzled you out.
'The receiver' still left to process and play catch up to their own feelings and of 'the idea' that they have formed and the shock of the information to get used that change.
