Would you feel it if I shattered -
Hold me in pieces like I mattered?
If I told you I needed more than the moon
Would it hurt to pay attention?

Singing me sweet nothings
I can hear you, feel your breath on my skin.
If your words were worth its weight,
I swear; I wouldn't need the moon again.

But if, sweet, terrible, tantalisingly soft-
If,
This if,
Makes all the difference.
