Somewhere, back in time, in a world of bliss
I was living carefree, floating in the Light
I had no idea that I'd choose amiss
And I'd be expelled to this world of fight.

But the fate is harsh, ready to attack
And it never asks how you want to live,
It gives all the things, then it takes them back
Pushing you from high into its fine sieve.

It's the divine law, we are tiny sparks
Ruthlessly cast off from the starry sky
We end up in bodies, become lambs or sharks,
And forget the heaven when on Earth we sigh.

But I feel within such a wondrous thing
A desire burning and it is so odd
That it doesn't matter if I am a king
For I long for home, and I long for God.

And I hear a voice talking in my mind
That although on Earth we are mean and fight
If I can love more and be good and kind
One day I'll be able to rejoin the Light.
