DESPAIR AND RETRIEVED HOPE
He came to us the Saviour and the Son
of that great  Lord, the Father in the sky.
He planted mighty hope that grew so fast,
but He left it and went, like other men.

That hope soon turned to grief and great despair.
His mother cried her Son, His men their Lord.
She beat her fear and stood beside the cross
but what could that bring her, but stifling throes.

Where was that Lord Who came to save mankind?
He broke His mother's and His poor men's hearts.
They placed Him in a grave; they were in tears.
Where were you, hope, to build heaven on land?

But Jesus has been raised and revived hope.
His mother has become the mum of all,
and those who followed Him the greatest saints.
Their joy has filled their world and our own.
