When I was young, each morning filled with hope,
Skipping school, jumping rope.
Rode my bike, hide and seek, played games till pedaled weak.
Stayed outdoors, till lights came on.
Energy, dawn to dusk, dusk to dawn.
This morning from my bed, kissed my wife, on her head.
Rose for breakfast, and with those oats,
Headed bath for comfort soak.
All those games just a joke.
In my gardens where flowers grew,
Arthritis blooms, pains renew.
Bills seem bigger, challenge looms.
Wife says groom, pickup brooms.
Seems to be so many rooms.
