Words truly do escape me this day.
I’m holding her hand so tightly
She seems calm but
That obviously can’t be true.
Her eyes are fixated on the sky
While the clumsy childish fanfare dances on loop through my ears.
The more I stay in this moment
The sadder I feel.
No
that’s not right
Rather
I’ve never felt more in love.

I’m lost for words
His grip tightened for a second
But I can’t stop staring
Those red and blue rubber relics of pure happiness fill my soul
They carry the weight of the moment,
This never ending moment
Grating the once beloved fanfare into a refined sadness
The flakes of which sit uselessly upon my exposed brain.
The more I stay here
The heavier I get.
