"you actually did it!"
she exclaimed proudly
as he toddled towards her,
finally collapsing into her embrace.

she held him close
and swore to herself
that she'd never let go.

she tightened her grief-stricken embrace,
her anguished tears burning through his corpse.
as woe caressed her heart, she hoarsely whispered
"you actually did it."
