The heat the summer sun brought
to your skin makes me so jealous,
for she touched you and you
welcomed it willingly before me.
She left her mark and it’s all I can do
to keep from screaming- I wish I could
touch you, myself, but I am left standing
in the shade, watching your sunburns
come and go.
