A Friend
As i sit in silent solitude,
The room black as night,
I feel you drawing near me.
Gripping at my fright.
People stay away from you.
At least they try.
The reality of life is what is to be.
Now less fearful I become to die.
The more you draw close,
My life wilts away and blossoms again.
I fall into an understanding of you,
Knowing you are my friend.
Your touch sends shivers down my spine.
Feeling your chilling breath on my neck.
Filling me with a sense of shock.
Death's kiss giving me a dry peck.
I must leave this life behind.
Letting go of all my dreams.
Pushing the ones I love away.
Tearing my life at the seams.
But I will go with you,
I'll let you take my hand,
Guiding me along the way.
In eternity we will stand.
