I throw the word love around
So carelessly
I "love" things
this song
and that
new clothes
hot tea
and summertime
I love and love and love
until the word has lost its meaning
Love is the most impactful word
a person can hear
when squished between "I" and "you"
But when you heard the words escape
my mouth
I worry you saw how they stumbled
And how my eyes betrayed the careless nature
of the word "love" even as it
spilled off of my tongue
