I feel like we’re in a game
Of pretending we don’t care
And you’re the obvious winner
Because the rules were never fair.

You came in to my life
When I was finally feeling fine
And put me right back into the place
Of wanting someone as mine.

I thought I was done with that,
Past that kind of living
But now I am there again
No take, only giving.

And I am still not sure how
Exactly you are feeling
Because if there was an award for poker faces
It would be yours for the taking.

So as I have, and as I will
I’ll just bide my time.
I will wait not-so-patiently
Hoping you will know I am not fine.
